UCLA Dance Marathon Alumni (DMA) is the officially-recognized UCLA alumni group for participants (including committee members, dancers, moralers and volunteers) in one of UCLA's strongest philanthropic traditions, Dance Marathon.
With thousands of participants, live music, and appearances by celebrities and activists alike, Dance Marathon has raised $3 million in its eleven year history ($451,144.03 last year alone!), benefiting HIV-affected children around the world. Proceeds currently benefit three organizations: the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation, Project Kindle, and the UCLA AIDS Institute. Since its inception in 2002, DM aims to empower the UCLA campus community in the fight against pediatric AIDS by raising awareness about the importance of HIV education and testing, and helping young people make a difference in halting the spread of this critical, preventable disease. Today, Dance Marathon is the flagship event of the student-run organization, the Pediatric AIDS Coalition at UCLA. |
